Common Hepatic Duct : Predominantly extrahepatic bile duct which is formed by the junction of the right and left hepatic ducts, which are predominantly intrahepatic, and, in turn, joins the cystic duct to form the common bile duct.

Common Hepatic Duct: The common hepatic duct is a tube that carries bile from the biliary tree and the right and left hepatic ducts in the liver to the gallbladder, where bile is stored and concentrated. The common hepatic duct is located in the upper right side of the abdomen.

Conditions that can directly or indirectly afflict the common hepatic duct include gallstones, cholangitis, cholecystitis, biliary cirrhosis and biliary duct cancer.
