Poor fetal outcomes a sign of lupus

Women with systemic lupus erythematosus (SLE) are more likely to have adverse pregnancy results of stillbirths, premature deliveries and growth retarded babies despite lacking apparent symptoms of the disease. Therefore, abnormal pregnancies can be an indication of undiagnosed SLE. SLE is an autoimmune condition that primarily affects women in their fertile years, but can be undiagnosed for many years.
