A medical expert panel has approved the use of a new drug called Clolar for treatment of acute lymphocytic leukemia but not acute myeloid leukemia. If approved, Clolar would be the first new treatment drug for leukemia in 10 years. More trials may help provide enough positive information to allow use of Clolar in acute myeloid leukemia as well.
