A transgender patient has successfully sued 2 surgeons for neglecting to remove a surgical instrument from his abdomen after he was sutured up. Upon his initial presentation to emergency after the operation, he experienced nausea, vomiting, and pain similar to a heart attack, but was misdiagnosed with ovarian cysts and gallstones. The doctors were found medically negligent and the patient was compensated.
