Female smokers risk breast cancer

Smoking prior to a first pregnancy increases a woman's risk of breast cancer by 20% compared to non-smokers and those women who start smoking after their first pregnancy. The age at which a woman starts to procreate also dictates her risk of later developing breast cancer, the earlier she starts, the lesser the risk. The study was conducted on postmenopausal women, as this is the age group at which most breast cancer is diagnosed.
