Childhood arthritis often misdiagnosed as growing pains

Spondylorarthrophathy is a common arthritic disease that can affect children. It is often misdiagnosed as growing pains. Child sufferers frequently suffer from joint pain and their body gets tired quickly when a physical activity is undertaken. One 3 year old boy who had to sometimes drag himself around because he couldn't walk was misdiagnosed for 6 years with conditions such as leukemia and normal childhood aches and pains. Growing pains often occur at bedtime or in the middle of the night. Arthritis causes stiffness in the mornings and pain can occur during the day as well.
