A little girl undergoes great suffering due to a misdiagnosis

A 31/2 year old girl was misdiagnosed with an inoperable brain tumour – anaplastic astrocytoma. For the next two years she underwent expensive nontoxic cancer treatment and suffered severe side effects such as weight gain and mood swings. The treatment was administered through a catheter in her chest. The girl started to suffer seizures when an attempt was made to withdraw from steroids. She underwent surgery in an attempt to reduce seizures but doctors discovered that the tumour was actually a benign congenital ganglioglioma.
