Prognosis for May-Hegglin Anomaly

Prognosis for May-Hegglin Anomaly: The prognosis is variable with the severity of bleeding symptoms being variable. The biggest danger is complications arising from excessive bleeding resulting from surgical or dental procedures or from a severe physical trauma. Care needs to be taken to avoid medications such as aspirin that can reduce platelet function. Many patients also have problems with hearing at high frequencies and tend to develop cataracts.
