Glossary for Benign Fasciculation Syndrome
- Alcohol use: Use of alcohol (as a symptom)
- Anxiety: Excessive worry, anxiety, or fear.
- Asthma: Repeated attacks of breathing difficulty.
- Clumsiness: Clumsy motions or poor coordination
- Emotional stress: A condition which occurs when a person is under stress affecting their emotions
- Essential tremor: It is a progressive neurological disease whose most recognizable feature is a tremor of the arms that is apparent during voluntary movements such as eating and writing.
- Lithium - Teratogenic Agent: There is evidence to indicate that exposure to Lithium during pregnancy may have a teratogenic effect on the fetus. A teratogen is a substance that can cause birth defects. The likelihood and severity of defects may be affected by the level of exposure and the stage of pregnancy that the exposure occurred at.
- Muscular Dystrophy: Any of various muscle wasting diseases
- Neurological disorder: diseases affecting the central and peripheral nervous system
- Tremor: Involuntary trembling most commonly of the hands.
- Valproic Acid - Teratogenic Agent: There is evidence to indicate that exposure to Valproic Acid during pregnancy may have a teratogenic effect on the fetus.
