Glossary for Barakat syndrome

• Cracked skin: Cracking skin areas
• Deafness: Inability to hear sounds.
• Dry skin: Dryness of the skin.
• Hypoparathyroidism: A condition where the parathyroid glands don't produce enough parathyroid hormone for normal body functioning. The primary function of these hormones is to regulate body calcium levels.
• Kidney failure: The inability of the kidney to function correctly in its function of excreting metabolites from the blood
• Nephrotic syndrome: Various kidney glomeruli conditions
• Sensorineural hearing loss: Hearing loss due to abnormal functioning or damage to the hearing nerve or the cochlea (inner ear) or the part of the brain that processes sound. The hearing problem may be present at birth or may be acquired through such things as aging, excessive noise or diseases such as meningitis.
• Weakness: Symptoms causing weakness of the body
